How to Prep Your Car For a Really Great Car Wash
Taking your car for a professional wash will save you time and help ensure your vehicle stays in tip-top condition.
For the best results, there are a couple of small things we ask In and Out customers to do before stopping by. Read on to learn how to prep your car for a really great car wash.
1. Put valuables in your trunk, or empty it completely if you want it cleaned. As a general rule, we won’t go into your trunk unless directed, so feel free to leave your stuff in there. If you specifically want your trunk cleaned, let us know and we will take care of it for you, but be sure to take any valuables with you, or remove them from your car altogether before you drive in.
2. Sweep out your truck beds and remove all debris. We ask that you come into the car wash with an empty truck bed so that you won’t damage your vehicle or our equipment. Also note that we do not crawl into or hand clean truck beds in the wash process. A detail job could include this service (by estimate only).
3. Open your ashtrays and cup holders. Every car is different and its tough to know where all the nooks and crannies are that need to be cleaned. Opening compartments beforehand helps us identify which areas we need to give some TLC to.
4. Be aware of your alarms and automatic door lock systems. Please be sure you know the “ins and outs” of your particular car so the keys won’t automatically get locked in your car. Most cars will not lock when keys are inside, but some are so sensitive the motion of the water or the cloth curtains will cause it to lock up. You probably won’t need it, but it’s not a bad idea to bring an extra key, just in case.
As a friendly reminder, you will find a simple Customer Instruction sign at the tunnel entrance of the car wash so you will know exactly what to do the next time you bring your car in for a wash!
