Get Your Car Winter Ready

It’s still very mild here in Charleston, but it never hurts to be prepared in case a big freeze is still to come.
Read our easy six-point checklist and get your car winter-ready.
1. Check your cables, terminals, fluid and battery (you’ll be using your heater and lights much more)
2. Asses your tires and make sure the tread is in good enough condition to grip icy roads
3. Check tire pressure
4. Top up the antifreeze in your radiator and add some to your windshield washer fluid
5. Check your defrosting and heating units for visibility and comfort
6. If you travel a lot be sure to pack a winter emergency kit, just in case:
- Flares
- Blankets
- Boots
- Radio
- Engine oil
- Washer fluid
- Coolant
- Flashlight
